EB-1C Visa Resume

EB-1C Visa Resume Writing and Editing Services

EB-1C Visa resume writing and editing services by experts who understand how to effectively structure a CV. We understand that for an EB-1C petition, your resume is not a job-hunting document; it is a piece of evidence, which should corroborate Form I-140 and make it clear to the USCIS officer that you have worked and will work in a managerial or executive capacity for a qualifying multinational employer. This is where we come in; our goal is to develop a strong EB-1C resume as evidence for presenting to the Visa delegate.

Managerial Vs. Executive Capacity: What We Ensure Is in Your Resume

EB-1C is based on two alternative standards, but you only need to satisfy one, and we ensure that, in your resume, it is clear which one and support it with specific information.

In the Immigration and Nationality Act, the following are the definitions:

  • Managerial capacity: You manage the organization, a department, subdivision, or an essential function. You supervise and control the work of other supervisory, professional, or managerial employees; or you manage an essential function at a senior level (a “function manager” who may not directly supervise staff). You hold authority to hire, fire, or recommend personnel actions, and you exercise discretion over day-to-day operations. Managing a small number of lower-level workers is not enough on its own.
  • Executive capacity: You direct the management of the organization or a major component or function. You establish goals and policies, exercise wide latitude in discretionary decision-making, and receive only general supervision from higher-level executives, the board, or stockholders. Executive capacity is about setting the direction.

The initial goal is to decide the definition that suits you best before we begin.

Proving One Year of Qualifying Employment Abroad

EB-1C requires that you were employed outside the United States for at least one continuous year within the three years preceding the petition (or preceding your most recent lawful nonimmigrant admission, if you are already working for the U.S. petitioner). When writing or editing, we ensure that the year is concise by:

  • Using the full month and year date ranges
  • Labeling the overseas role with its managerial or executive title and the entity’s country
  • If you have since transferred to the U.S. entity, it is essential to show that the transition is clear so that the “preceding admission” timing is self-evident.

Documenting the Qualifying Corporate Relationship

The foreign employer and the U.S. petitioner must share a qualifying relationship, which is either a parent, subsidiary, affiliate, or branch. The corporate documents prove it, but it is essential for the resume to reinforce it; as such, in your resume, we ensure to:

  • Name both entities and make the link explicit in the role description
  • Keep entity names consistent with how they appear on the I-140 and support corporate records.
  • If you moved between affiliated entities, we present it as one continuous career within a corporate group rather than job-hopping.

Writing Bullets That Demonstrate Managerial/Executive Duties

It is essential for EB-1C resumes to be capacity-based and not task-based bullets. Task-based bullets describe a worker, while capacity-based bullets describe a leader. The focus in capacity-based bullets is quantifying span of control, direct reports, budget and P&L authority, and the decisions you personally owned.

Weak vs. Strong EB-1C Visa Resume Bullets

In the strong example (see image below), the focus is on numbers, the level of people managed, the scope of discretion, and the seniority of the person you reported to in your role.
